Skagit County, Washington- Skagit County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported assault on Pinelli Road in Skagit County on March 17th, 2016 around 10:30 am.
A woman reported that she was approached by a 19-year old teen near her home who asked if she had any work for him to do. The woman stated she did not but would give the teen her husbands business card to see if he could help the teen with some work.
The woman went into her home to get the business card and while she was inside the teen entered the home without permission. The woman told him he needed to leave and he refused. The teen sat down briefly and then went into another room in the home as the woman called her husband on the phone for help. The teen then came out of the room with his jacket and shirt off and when the woman asked the teen what he was doing he removed his pants and underwear. The woman stated the teen then started grabbing at her and followed her around the couch. The woman told deputies that the teen put his hands on her several times but did not hurt her and she was able to shake off his hands.
The woman left her house and went to her neighbors home, where they were digging a trench and asked them to call 9-1-1. She advised the teen put his clothes on and came out of the house, still trying to follow her. The neighbors kept the teen away from the woman until deputies arrived.
The teen, Sawyer Scollard (12/29/96) resisted arrest by arriving deputies and had to be taken to the ground by two deputies who reported they believed he was possibly high on some sort of drugs and talking in the third person.
Sawyer Scollard is currently being held in the Skagit County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail for suspicion of Burglary in the 1st degree with sexual motivation and resisting arrest.
