Skagit County, Washington– The Washington State Patrol responded to a serious injury car versus pedestrian crash around 10:40 pm on State Route 536 near Bennett Road on April 14th, 2016.
According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, Firefighters from the McLean Road Fire Department responded with Skagit County Medics to the scene where they found 48 year old Trelawney Babcock of Blaine, seriously injured and laying in the roadway.
Troopers say he had been struck by a 2002 Toyota Avalon, driven by Elizabeth Rogers of Mount Vernon. Rogers had been Eastbound SR 536 near Bennett Road when she struck the man who had been wearing all dark clothing and walking in the roadway.
Mr. Babcock was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where his condition is unknown.
The driver of the Avalon stayed on scene and fully cooperated with Troopers. She was later released from the scene, uninjured.
Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash and Troopers say the cause of the crash is listed as “pedestrian in roadway.” No Charges are expected.
