Man Jumps Into Skagit River to Avoid Arrest

Sedro Woolley, Washington-  Around  2:30 pm today, Officers from  the Sedro Woolley Police Department were  requested to assist the Department of Corrections with an arrest at the Riverfront Park camp grounds.

The wanted subject had a confirmed felony warrant out of the Department of Corrections for Escape of  Community Custody.

Sedro Woolley Police Department Officers arrived and the subject had already fled on foot from DOC Officers.

Sedro Woolley Officers located the subject in the Skagit  River and had to assist with getting him up from the river bank.

The subject was rendered aid by Sedro Woolley Officers and Sedro Woolley Fire Staff.

He was then turned over to DOC Officers for booking.
