Bellingham Police Seek Information in Sexual Assault

Bellingham, Washington– Bellingham Police are Seeking information on two suspects in a sexual assault.

According to a press memo from Bellingham Police Department, an adult female was walking in the area of Maritime Heritage Park between  6:00 am and 7:00 am on June 7th, 2016  when she met a similarly aged white male. The woman struck up a conversation with the man. After an undetermined amount of time speaking with this male and sharing cigarettes with him, they began to walk into the park on the boardwalk.

The victim reported that she was pushed to the ground by this male and sexually assaulted by both he and another male, who it’s believed was close by.

After the assault, the victim left the area and was transported by family to the ER for a sexual assault exam where she was contacted by Bellingham Patrol Officers.

This case is under active investigation, and in order to deter any misinformation, the crime scene was thoroughly documented and detectives are following up on leads.

Suspects one (#1) is  described as being a white male who is 5’9″ to 5’10” tall, has a medium build and has wind or sunburned cheeks.

Suspect #2 was described as a skinny, white male whose appearance and current lifestyle make him look like he’s is in his 60’s.
