Mount Vernon Man Dies In SR9 Crash

Snohomish County, Washington- The Washington State Patrol responded to a fatality collision on State Route 9 near State Route 2 around 6:15 am this morning.

According to a press release from the Washington State Patrol, 56-Year old Michael Holloway of Mount Vernon was traveling South on State Route 9 in a blue 2003 Toyota Echo when he encountered heavy traffic and attempted a U-Turn.  As he attempted the U-Turn he  was struck by a Dark Blue 2012 Dodge Ram Pickup, driven by 57-year old Robert March of Lake Stevens. 

Michael Holloway died at the scene. Robert March was not injured in the crash.

The cause of the crash is listed as Unsafe U-Turn and charges are not pending in the crash.

The Toyota Echo was impounded for safe keeping by Rescue Towing and the Dodge Truck was impounded for safe keeping by Dick’s Towing.
