Arlington Woman Dies in SR530 Crash

Arlington, Washington- The Washington State Patrol responded to a fatality crash on East State Route 530, 13 miles Northeast of Arlington around 6:30 pm on June 17th, 2016.

 

According to a press release from the Washington State Patrol, 31 year old Matthew Miller, of Marysville was Eastbound State Route 530 near milepost 35 in a black 2004 Ford Explorer when he lost control of his vehicle and crossed the center line and struck a Westbound red 2001 Chevy Tahoe being driven by 45-year old Cassandra Carpentier of Arlington.  She died at the scene.

The press memo states both drivers were wearing seat belts, and drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash.

The cause of the crash is listed as failure to maintain control of vehicle. No charges are expected in the crash.

Both Vehicles were impounded for safe keeping to North County Towing.

Mr. Miller was injured and transported to Cascade Valley Hospital.
