Mount Vernon, Washington- The Mount Vernon Police Department responded to reports of a possible robbery in the 800 block of West Division around 3:55 pm on July 2nd, 2016.
According to Lt. Chris Cammock with the Mount Vernon Police Department, the incident turned out to be an attempted theft from a business.
Lt Cammock said, A man entered the store and went to purchase an item. When the clerk opened the till drawer, the man reached into the till, trying to take the money. The quick thinking clerk was able to prevent the theft and the suspect ran out of the store.
Mount Vernon Police are interested in speaking to the man in the photo below about what he witnessed.
