Clinton Man Dies In Crash on SR 525 Near Langley

Island County, Washington- The Washington State Patrol responded to a fatality car crash on North SR 525 near Crawford Road  (milepost 13.5) in the City of Langley around 12:05 pm on July 6th, 2016.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 63-year old Larry Poolman of Clinton died after suffering a medical condition while driving his blue 1978 Chevrolet Pickup Southbound on  SR 525 near Crawford Road.

During the medical issue, Mr. Poolman’s vehicle crossed the center line and stuck a Northbound white 2005 Dodge Durango.   The Durango was being driven by 50-year old Michael Newberry of Newcastle.   Mr. Newcastle was injured and transported to Whidbey General Hospital.

A passenger in Mr. Newberry’s Vehicle, 49-year old Cindy Newberry of Newcastle was also injured and transported to Whidbey General Hospital.

Both Vehicles were impounded to Simmons Towing for safe keeping.

The cause of the crash is listed as “medical” and no charges are pending.
