SR20 Motorcycle Crash Injures Surrey Woman

Whatcom County, Washington– The Washington State Patrol responded to a single motorcycle crash on State Route 20 near Milepost 124, four miles East of Newhalem  around 11:12 am on July 16th, 2016.

According to a press release from the Washington State Patrol, 57-year old Susan Barron of Surrey, BC was Eastbound on State Route 20 about four miles East of Newhalem  on a black 2005 Harley Davidson Motorcycle when she failed to negotiate a left hand turn in the roadway and crossed the fog line and struck a guardrail.

The press memo states she was injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries.

The Motorcycle was impounded for safe keeping to Advanced Towing.

The rider had a valid Motorcycle endorsement and was wearing a US DOT Compliant Helmet at the time of the crash. Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash.

The cause of the crash is listed as “lost control of motorcycle.” No charges are pending.
