MUKILTEO, WASHINGTON. – Detectives with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office believe the vehicle of a Lynnwood man who went missing last August has been located.

The red 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse, License Plate number #AUH2654,  belonging to 20 year-old Jose Sanchez Diaz was discovered by commercial divers under about 50 feet of water and approximately 100 feet from the end of the Mukilteo Ferry loading dock early in the morning on Tuesday, July 12.

Confirmation of the vehicle’s identification number is pending, but video provided by divers shows a vehicle that matches the one the victim was driving when he disappeared on August 29, 2015.

Detectives are still investigating Diaz’s disappearance and hope to recover the vehicle to search for evidence, although an exact date for the recovery has not been set. Diaz worked  in North Seattle and lived in Lynnwood at the time of his disappearance.

Anyone with information about Diaz’s disappearance should contact the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office via the anonymous tip line (425-388-3845).
