Puyallup Motorcyclist Injured in Crash with Tractor

Adams County, Washington-The Washington State Patrol Responded to a serious injury crash on State Route 26 at Booker Road, 6 miles East of Othello involving a trike motorcycle and a large tractor around 2:25 pm on July 22nd, 2016.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol and the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, 52-year old Julie Rice of Puyallup was traveling Eastbound on State Route 26 on a  1993 Honda GL1500 Trike, towing a 1994 Utility Trailer.

The press memo states as she approached a Green John Deer Harvester Tractor from behind, she moved into the Westbound Lanes to pass the Tractor at the same time the tractor, driven by 17-year old Conner Holmes of Grand Junction, Colorado was making a left hand turn onto Booker Road.

The Tractor then struck the Motorcycle that was attempting to pass in the Westbound Lanes. Both Vehicles slid off the highway and onto Booker Road, Just North of SR26.

The driver of the motorcycle was seriously injured and airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane.

The Trike and Trailer were totaled and towed by Oscars Towing. The John Deer Tractor was not damaged and driven from the scene.

The press memo states the cause of the crash and possible charges are both under investigation. Alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the crash.
