Island County, Washington- On July 28, 2016 at approximately 11:26 am, Camano Island Deputies were dispatched to the 300 Block of Heather Drive on Camano Island for a report of a shooting with one person down.
When Sheriff’s Deputies arrived they located a male subject laying face down in the driveway of the home with a gunshot wound.
Based on witness statements the suspect, a 30 year old male was located nearby and taken into custody. The victim, a male in his late 30’s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives said the suspect and victim were acquaintances but detectives did not give any further information on a motive at this time.
Detectives are still investigating and additional information will be released when it becomes available in the coming days.
