SR530 Crash Sends Marysville Motorcyclist to Hospital

Arlington, Washington- The Washington State Patrol responded to a serious injury crash on State Route 530 near Dike Road around 12:33 pm today.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 66-Year old Sheri Cochran of Sedro-Woolley, Washington was driving a Silver GMC Envoy on State Route 530 when she attempted to make an illegal U-Turn.  A 2004 Harley Davidson Motorcycle being driven by a  59-year old  Marysville man was unable to stop and he struck the side of the GMC.  The Motorcycle rider was transported to Providence Hospital and his name has not been released by authorities due to the nature of his injuries.

The Press memo states the driver of the GMC was wearing a Seat belt and the driver of the motorcycle had a proper motorcycle endorsement and was wearing a US D.O.T. compliant helmet at the time of the crash. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected in the incident.

Both vehicles were impounded to the Washington State Patrol District 7 Bullpen for further investigation.

The cause of the crash is listed as illegal U-Turn and charges are pending against the driver of the GMC for vehicular Assault.
