Whatcom County, Washington- The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office said a body found floating in Baker Lake today may be that of 42-year old Glen Richardson who was reported missing on July 14th, 2016 after he was last seen near the North End of Baker Lake around 8 pm on the night of July 13th, 2016.

A group of boaters on Baker Lake called 9-1-1 around 1:00 pm today when they spotted a body floating about 100 feet off the shore on the North End of the Lake.
Skagit County Medic 7 responded to the scene with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Forest Service personnel to recover the body.
An extensive search and rescue mission had been originally conducted by Whatcom County Search and Rescue members as well as K-9 Units and a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Helicopter to try and locate Mr. Richardson and his boat after he was reported missing. Another fisherman in the area reported seeing Mr. Richardson and his 12-foot Aluminum Boat about 15 minutes after he left his camp the night he went missing. The Fisherman reported winds were causing 1-2 foot waves in the area the night he went missing.
During the search an Oar was found that was confirmed to have been from Mr. Richardson’s boat but no additional signs of the man were found and the search was called off on July 17th, 2016.
The identity of the man found in the lake today, as well as the official Cause and Manner of death will be released once those items are completed by the Medical Examiners Office.
