Sedro-Woolley Man Arrested After Killing Bicyclist In Crash

Island County, Washington- The Washington State Patrol responded to a fatal crash in the 5100 block of East Harbor Road  involving a vehicle and a bicycle around 9:12 pm on August 4th, 2016.

According to the press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 52-year old David Hinton of Sedro Woolley was driving under the influence of alcohol,  Eastbound in the 5100 block of East Harbor Road in a Grey 1997 Lexus E300.

The press memo says a  58-year old Langley man, later identified as Randall Lorraine,  was riding a bicycle Eastbound on the Right Shoulder of the road when the vehicle drove onto the shoulder and struck the bicyclist, killing him. The name of the bicyclist has not been released pending notification of next of kin. **Next of kin has been notified by the Island County Medical Examiners Office**

Mr. Hinton was not injured and was arrested and booked into the Island County Jail on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence and  Vehicular Homicide.

The vehicle was impounded to the Washington State Patrol Bullpen.

The press memo states the bicyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
