Anacortes, Washington- The Anacortes Police Department has arrested a  man for suspicion of sexually assaulting a 5-year old child who he lived with when she was a child.

According to a probable cause affidavit of arrest obtained through a public disclosure request by SkagitBreaking.com, Anacortes Police Officers arrested a 41-year old Anacortes man on suspicion of sexually assaulting a relative when she was 5-years old.

The woman, now in her 20’s reported the incidents to the Anacortes Police Department in July of 2015 with the help of a friend.

The woman  had previously  reported the incidents to several relatives, who the probable cause affidavit says did nothing to protect her or contact authorities.

The woman told detectives that two of her uncles had sexually assaulted her on several occasions when they all lived together at a residence in Anacortes. On more than one occasion, the probable cause affidavit says the two uncles sexually assaulted the girl at the same time and one of them was kicked out of the house after being accused of participating in the assault but authorities were never called.

One of the men was arrested and booked into the Skagit County Jail on suspicion of child molestation and the whereabouts of the other man was unknown at the time of the public disclosure request.  The jailed man has since been released from Jail pending his next court appearance.

Skagitbreaking.com is not naming the man accused in the crime to protect the identity of the victim.
