Man Dies After Train Hits Farm Truck on Pioneer Highway

Stanwood, Washington– The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office says one  man has died and another was seriously injured when their farm truck was hit by a train near the intersection of Pioneer Highway and 92nd Avenue,  south of Mount Vernon.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Deputies said the truck was crossing the tracks around 6:15 pm last night  when it was struck. One man, who has not been identified, died at the scene. A second man in the truck was transported by medics  to Harborview Regional Medical Center in Seattle.  His condition was unknown.

The tracks were shut down for several hours while representatives from Burlington Northern Investigated the scene.
