The woman took photos of the mans vehicle, and contacted the Island County Sheriff’s Office to file a report and then posted the following warning on social media, which was ultimately shared thousands of times:

“Keep a look out for this Creep! He tried to get me into his car today…TWICE! I was at/around the Deception Pass Bridge, running. He drives past me really slowly and starts telling me to get into his car, he says “you need to get into my car, you need to get into my car now” I’m like “WTH”? I keep running and he drives off. But then once I cross the bridge, there he is again…this time he is driving towards me and he’s waving his hands and screaming at me “Get in my car, you need to get in my car, I want to give you a ride…hey hey!! I just looked straight at him and screamed “No” (actually a really bad cuss word before that, but my parents are on facebook, ha!) and turned the opposite direction…then I thought…screw this…I’m getting pictures of this freak…went and filed a police report. They sent me the profile pic of him, I took the others. They told me he is from Sedro-Woolley. This was a horrible experience, please be safe out there and be aware of your surroundings at all times…XOXO

A follow up by SkagitBreaking.com  with the Island County Sheriff’s Office confirms the woman did report being approached multiple times by a man in a gray Honda Accord. She was able to provide investigators with a license plate number and a description of the man driving the vehicle.  Investigators were able to determine the vehicle was a gray 2014 Honda Accord, driven by a slender,  balding  man,  believed to be in his 50’s with brown hair.

Skagitbreaking.com chose not to identify the man or share the Facebook post from the woman  involved until we could verify the man was wanted by Law Enforcement for the reported incident at Deception Pass.

The Island County Sheriff’s Office released a statement saying “This Event while obviously concerning does not rise to the level of a violation of Washington State Law at this time.  The male involved has been tentitively identified and is NOT currently wanted by Law Enforcement; however we are continuing to investigate this incident.”

SkagitBreaking.com reminds all citizens to be aware of their surroundings and call 9-1-1 if you have had a similar experience with this man.

At this time,  we have blurred the photo of the man, now dubbed by many as the  “Deception Pass Creeper” as he  is not wanted by Law Enforcement.  We have also  blurred the license plate number of his vehicle for this story.
