Snohomish County, WA – Snohomish County Sheriff’s detectives served a search warrant this morning in the 2000 block of 196th St SE and arrested a 25 year-old female, who is a teacher at Lynnwood High School.
According to a press release from Shari Ireton, Director of Communications for the Snohomish County Sheriff Office, Detectives had probable cause to arrest the teacher for 1st degree sexual misconduct with a minor. The victim, a 17 year-old male, was a student of the suspect and 16 years-old when the alleged crimes occurred.
Allegations about the crimes were brought to the Edmonds School District, who immediately contacted the school resource officer, a sheriff’s deputy. The deputy reported the allegations to the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit, which investigates crimes against children.
During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that the suspect and 17-year old victim developed a relationship which, over time, became sexual.
The school district has been extremely cooperative with law enforcement throughout the investigation.
The suspect has been booked at the Snohomish County jail and the investigation continues.
