Lakewood School Cancelled After Threats of a School Shooting

Snohomish County, WA –  The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is investigating  an online  threat made to a Lakewood Middle School student this morning via social media.

The threat was from an unknown individual stating, “Don’t go to Lakewood Middle School Today, There Is Going To Be A Shooting”.  The student did the right thing and notified his parents and the Lakewood School District, who immediately notified the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

The School District has made the decision to close all schools in the district while Sheriff’s deputies investigate the treat.

Deputies are currently in the process of obtaining a search warrant to identify where the threat originated and will be on-site throughout the day.

Information about school closures should be directed to the Lakewood School District.
