Infant Found Abandoned in La Conner Parking Lot

La Conner, Washington– Skagit County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to reports of an abandoned infant found in the parking lot of the Pioneer Market in LaConner, Washington just before 5 pm on December 14th, 2016.

According to a press release from Skagit County Sheriff’s Detective Sergeant Jennifer Sheahan-Lee, the child, a 14-month old infant was found unattended in a car seat in the parking lot of the business where temperatures were in the mid-20’s. The child was brought into the business and cared for by staff until deputies arrived.

While Deputies were still on scene the father of the child arrived. The investigating deputies discovered there was a twin child that was now left unattended in the returning vehicle in the parking lot.

Both Children were taken into protective custody and turned over to child protective Services.  An investigation into the incident continues.
