Woman Injured in Crash on SR20 Near Sedro-Woolley

Sedro-Woolley, WA- The Washington State Patrol responded to a two car crash on State Route 20 at Sims Road around 4:10 pm on December 19th, 2016.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 21-year old Bethany Higdon of Mount Vernon was traveling Westbound on State Route 20 in a 1997 Volkswagen Jetta when she failed to negotiate a right curve, crossed the center line and struck the front  drivers corner of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 64-year old Donald Hendershot of Concrete. Both vehicles came to reset in the Westbound Lanes. Neither Mr. Hendershot or his passenger, 60-year old Judie  Hendershot of Concrete were injured.

Bethany Higdon was seriously injured and transported to Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon.  Firefighters and medics on scene requested a medical helicopter from Airlift Northwest  to transport her, but due to weather conditions  the helicopter was not able to respond and she was transported by Ambulance to the hospital.

The press memo lists the cause of the crash as “crossing the center line” and charges are pending against the causing driver.
