Mount Vernon Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

Mount Vernon, WA – In December of 2016, a joint team of Federal and local Law Enforcement personnel, including detectives from the Mount Vernon Police Department, arrested 20-year old Caleb Andrew Dierlam, of Mill Creek.  Dierlam was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on Probable Cause for the July 25th, 2016 robbery of Umpqua Bank in Lynnwood, Washington.

According to a press memo from Lieutenant Greg Booth with the Mount Vernon Police Department, Investigators believe Dierlam, who has been referred to in the media  as the “Harry Potter Bandit” is responsible for five additional bank robberies in Washington State and Oregon.

In addition to the Lynnwood robbery, he is accused of the following robberies as well:

  • Thursday, August 25th, 2016-Union Bank of Evergreen Way, Everett, WA
  • Friday, September 9th, 2016-Key Bank on College Way, Mount Vernon, WA
  • Tuesday, October 11th, 2016- Key Bank on Gravelly Lake Drive SW, Lakewood, WA
  • Tuesday, November 8th, 2016-Key Bank on SE Burnside Road, Gresham, OR
  • Tuesday, November 8th, 2016-US Bank on SW Tualatin Valley Highway, Beaverton, OR
