Stanwood High School Placed on Temporary Lockdown

Stanwood, WA – The Stanwood High School, located in the 7400 block of 272nd Street Northwest  was placed into precautionary lockdown on Wednesday, January 18th after a volunteer at the school misplaced a firearm,  according to a weekly police blotter release from the Stanwood Police Department.

The school was placed into lockdown after a retired Law Enforcement Officer who was volunteering at the school reported he had misplaced his firearm.

The lockdown only lasted about ten minutes and was lifted  after the firearm was subsequently located  secured in the truck of the volunteers vehicle.
