Burlington, WA – A 21-year old California man who formerly lived in Burlington has been arrested and jailed for charges of rape of a child from an incident that occurred in 2011 in Skagit County.
The man who was a 15-year old teen at the time, has admitted to Skagit County Sheriff’s Deputies that he had inappropriate sexual contact with a then 4-year old child.
The man called Deputies in 2015 to report his crime after being confronted with the sexual abuse information from the child’s family members.
The man is currently being held in the Skagit County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail for investigation of 1st Degree Rape of a Child.
