Suspect in Machete Attack Being Investigated for ATTEMPTED Murder 1

Skagit County, WA –  The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office has released information in yesterday’s machete attack.  According to a press release from Skagit County Sheriff’s Office Chief of Field Services, Chad Clark,  Deputies responded  to a domestic disturbance call in the 11000 block of Farm to Market Road in Mount Vernon.

The investigation has revealed that a 53-year old female was attacked with a machete by her estranged 51-year old husband.  The female had recently sought an Order of Protection against the male.

The Female’s injuries were very serious, so she was taken to Skagit Valley Hospital and then transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle said Clark.

Another person in the residence attempted to prevent further attacks and was injured requiring medical attention. The suspect fled the scene but was apprehended an hour later.

The suspect is being held in the Skagit County Jail for Attempted Murder but has not been formally charged yet.
