Anacortes, WA- A man called Skagit 9-1-1 at 7:44 p.m. on Tuesday night to report his 30-foot boat had run aground on rocks and was taking on water, near Vendovi Island, North of Anacortes.

A U.S. Coast Guard SAR Crew from Bellingham, Washington responded to the area in a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium and located the boat and man on the North Side of Vendovi Island.
A U.S. Coast Guard SAR Crew from Port Angeles arrived in a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter and hoisted the man off the back of the 45-foot Response Boat and transported him to the Anacortes Airport. He was transported by Medics to Island Hospital in Anacortes where he was treated for mild hypothermia.
The Air Crew consisted of Lt. Caled Robards, Aircraft Commander, Lt j.g. Kevan Stoeckler, Copilot, Avionics Electrical Technician 2nd Class Peter Bradshaw, Flight Mechanic, and Aviation Survival Technician 3rd Class, Matt Margot, Swimmer.
