Mount Vernon, WA – The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the suspicious death that occurred on Thursday May 4th, 2017 in the 17000 block of Blodgett Road in Mount Vernon was a homicide.
Initial reports from the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office were that a resident found a male family member deceased in the residence and a black 2004 Hummer H2 was missing. The victim was later identified by the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office as 36-year old Miguel Felix. The missing Hummer was found on Sunday May 7th, 2017.
According to an updated press release from Skagit County Sheriff’s Office Detective Sergeant Jennifer Sheanhan-Lee, investigators have confirmed the suspicious death as a homicide and believe the murder happened around noon on May 4th, 2017. Detectives have identified a suspect in the case who they say formerly lived with the victim.
Detectives are seeking information on the whereabouts of 39-year old Alberto Flores Alaniz. Mr. Alaniz is also known to use the alias Fores Alaniz. He is described as being 6 feet tall and weighing 170 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
The Sheriff’s Office investigation has confirmed that Mr. Alaniz has been seen in the Snohomish County and King County areas since the homicide. Detectives warm the public not to contact him directly and he should be considered armed and dangerous.
