Semi Truck Driver Has Medical Issue, Runs Into House

Pierce County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a Semi-Truck Crash into a house around 6:02 p.m. on May 14th, 2017.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 44-year old Scott McCabe of Modesto, California was traveling Northbound on State Route 507 in Pierce County when he suffered a medical issue.

The memo states he lost control of the 2016 Peterbuilt Semi Tractor and Trailer and went off the roadway, striking a residence in the 34000 block of State Route 507.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Phillips  said that a person who lived at the residence was home at the time of the crash but not injured.  The semi truck driver suffered minor injures and was transported to St. Josephs Hospital for Treatment.

The Semi Truck was totaled and impounded to Nisqually Towing for safe keeping.

Troopers say drugs or alcohol were not involved in the crash and the driver was wearing a seat belt.
