Island County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a high-risk, two-vehicle crash around 3:29 p.m. on State Route 532 in Island County on June 29th, 2017.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 29-year old Jesse Spencer of Burlington was traveling Eastbound on State Route 532 in a 2005 Toyota Scion at a high rate of speed. The press memo states he drove onto the shoulder and over-corrected before crossing into the Westbound Lanes where he collided with a 2014 Toyota Prius being driven by 69-year old Donald Walsh of Camano Island. Mr. Walsh was injured and transported by Medics to Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon.

Mr. Spencer was injured and transported to Providence Hospital.  Both vehicles were impounded to the Washington State Patrol Bullpen.

The cause of the crash is listed as speeds too fast for conditions. Troopers say drugs or alcohol are said to be a causing factor as well.  Charges are pending against the causing driver.
