Clear Lake Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash

Clear Lake, WA – Deputies from the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office and Troopers from the Washington State Patrol responded to a fatal motorcycle crash on Mud Lake Road, near  Buchanan Street in Clear Lake around 1:00 p.m. on July 4th, 2017.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 76-year old David “Dave” Chisholm of Clear Lake was traveling Northbound on Mud Lake Road, just North of Buchanan Street on a red and white 2009 Honda CRF230 motorcycle  when he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed on the left shoulder of the road.

Firefighters from the Big Lake and Clear Lake Fire Department responded with Paramedics from Skagit County Medic One  and Medical Supervisor 1 (MS01).

Troopers say Mr. Chisholm was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital where he died from his injuries.

Mr. Chisholm had a valid motorcycle endorsement and was wearing a USDOT Compliant helmet.  Troopers say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Dave Chisholm was a long time Clear Lake Resident and Volunteer Firefighter/Commissioner  with the Clear Lake Volunteer Fire Department for many years before he retired.
