Oak Harbor, WA – On July 11th, 2017 at approximately 8:52 a.m. the Oak Harbor Police Department received a 9-1-1 call regarding a female being forcibly held down by a male in the 500 block of SE Bayshore Drive in Oak Harbor.
Washington State Patrol Public Information Officer, Trooper Heather Axtman said Witnesses reported to Officers that the male was armed with a gun. Shortly after Officers arrived on scene, shots were fired and the male was struck in the arm. The male was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with non-life threatening injuries. No One else was injured in the incident.
Oak Harbor Police Contacted the (SMART) Skagit Multiple Agency Response Team to begin conducting a thorough investigation. The SMART team includes detectives from several Skagit County Police Agencies.
The investigation into the incident is on-going.
