Index, WA – The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team and Search and Rescue Crews responded to the South Fork of the Skykomish River yesterday for reports of a woman’s body floating in the water. The location is just downstream from Sunset Falls, where a 25-year old Texas woman disappeared on June 28th, 2017.
The missing Texas woman was at the falls with her mother around 8:00 p.m. on June 28th when the mother said she looked away and when she looked back her daughter was gone.
Search and Rescue Crews did an extensive ground search of the area around the falls and found no signs of the woman.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office used a helicopter to search the river from the sky and Fire and rescue crews searched the water as well but found no signs of the missing woman.
Positive Identification of the body will be released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiners Office after they complete an autopsy.
