Teen in Critical Condition After Being Rescued From River

Arlington, WA – A 16-year old female was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center in Critical Condition after she was rescued from the river at Twin Rivers Park in Arlington  on September 5th, 2017.

According to a press release from Shari Ireton, Director of Communications for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, a 9-1-1 call was made around 2:20 p.m. stating there was someone in the river.

Bystanders pulled the girl from the bottom of the river and immediately started C.P.R.

Arlington Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived and took over life-saving efforts. Fire Crews placed the female on a backboard and used it to help float her to the other side of the river to an ambulance who transported the girl to the hospital.

Witnesses said the teen was under water for approximately three minutes before bystanders pulled her out.

The condition of the teen is unknown.
