Transient Male Found Dead near Lion’s Park

Mount Vernon, WA – The Mount Vernon Police Department responded to reports of a body found near the North end of Lion’s Park around 9:37 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8th, 2017.

Lieutenant Greg Booth with the Mount Vernon Police Department told SkagitBreaking.com via email that the deceased was a transient male in his 50’s.

Detectives investigated the scene and found no suspicious circumstances, other than the location of the body along the riverbank.   Lieutenant Booth said the Skagit County Coroner has  determined the man died from natural causes.

No Further investigation is being conducted.

The Coroner will release the man’s identity, once next of kin has been formally notified.
