Mount Vernon Woman Dies in Crash

Fatal Crash

Skagit County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Josh Wilson Road and Farm To Market Road around 5:54 p.m. on January 15th, 2018.  Troopers were requested to assist the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 60-year old Karen Wolf of Mount Vernon was stopped at a stop sign Westbound on Josh Wilson Road in a 1997 Toyota 4-Runner.

Troopers say there were vehicles in the dedicated right turn lane from Farm To Market Road obstructing the view of her vehicle.

WOLF accelerated from the stop sign and her vehicle was  struck by  maroon 2001 Dodge Ram Pickup that was traveling Northbound on Farm To Market Road.  Both vehicles came to rest in the ditch in the Northwest corner of the intersection.  The pickup was  being driven by 28-year old Levi Nicholl of Sedro-Woolley. He sustained non life threatening injuries in the crash.

WOLF died at the scene.  Troopers say drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash and both drivers wore seat belts.

Peters Towing impounded the 4-Runner for safe keeping and towed the Dodge Ram pickup to a body shop.

The cause of the crash and possible charges remain under investigation.
