Murder Investigation

Camano Island, WA – According to a press release from the Island County Sheriff’s Office Camano Island Precinct, the body of a female has been recovered under suspicious circumstances.

On March 3, 2018, at approximately 2:30PM, Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a call for a body located on a undeveloped parcel of land near Tamarack Lane, in south Camano Island.

Investigators served several search warrants on the property and recovered the body of a white female, who had been deceased for several days. Based on the evidence found at the scene, it is believed that this woman is a victim of homicide. The Island County Coroner’s Office is working to determine the victim’s identity and cause of death.

Additionally, investigators located a bunker that had been dug into the hillside, and found that it contained a cache of supplies, firearms, and ammunition.
