10,000 Participants Expected This Weekend at Burlington Soccer Tournament

Burlington, WA-  Northwest United FC returns to Skagit County this year  to  host their annual youth soccer tournament, The Skagit Firecracker,  at  Burlington’s Skagit River Park.

The youth soccer tournament will draw approximately 248 teams this year with an estimated 10,000 participants and spectators.

The games begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 15th. Saturday’s games will run from 9 am until 9 p.m. and Sundays’ games will run from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

In addition to the soccer games, Burlington’s 81st annual Berry Dairy Days Festival will take place this weekend from Friday, June 15th through Sunday, June 17th.

Skagit River Park will host the Berry Dairy Days “Friday night Fireworks Show at dusk on Friday, June 15th. This free event is very popular and spectators are encouraged to arrive early for live music, food vendors and more.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit in the grass and watch the band before watching the fireworks show.  There are an estimated 3000 additional spectators that show up for the fireworks show.  Parking is limited in the area due to the soccer games, so plan ahead and carpool if you can.

On Saturday, June 16th, Skagit River Park will host a free outdoor showing of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
