Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle on I-5 in Snohomish County

Snohomish County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a single vehicle-pedestrian crash on Southbound I-5 just North of SR528 in Marysville around 11:44 p.m. on August 12th, 2018.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 25-year old Ashley Miller of Sultan was running East across Southbound  I-5 at milepost 200 when she was struck by a Southbound 2015 Toyota RAV 4 being driven by 52-year old Maruf Yousufi of Auburn.

YOUSUFI continued Southbound I-5, exiting at Exit 199 where he called the District 7 Washington State Patrol Communications Office to report that he had struck an unknown object.   MILLER came to rest on the shoulder of Southbound I-5.  She was injured and transported by Aid to Providence Hospital.

Troopers say drug or alcohol were not a factor in the crash. The cause is listed as Pedestrian Running Across I-5. No charges are expect in the incident.  YOUSUFI was not injured in the crash.
