Sedro-Woolley Man Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle While Walking On I-5

Snohomish County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a fatal incident on Northbound I-5 near milepost 216 around 9:02 p.m. on September 18th, 2018.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 37-year old Andrew Ryan Johnson of Sedro-Woolley was walking Northbound on I-5 just North of Milepost 215 in lane one of three when he was struck by a  blue 2003 Honda Civic  being driven by a 36-year old man from Mount Vernon who was also  traveling Northbound I-5 in lane one of three.

Mr. Johnson came to rest in lane two of three where he was struck again by a second vehicle, a white 2009 Toyota Camry  being driven by a 68-year old man from Mount Vernon.

Both vehicles were totaled and impounded for safe keeping by Dicks Towing and Budget Towing.

Troopers say drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash and the cause of the crash was “Pedestrian in Roadway.” No charges are expected.
