Bellingham Man Injured in Crash on Chuckanut Drive

Motorcycle Crash

Skagit County, WA– The Washington State Patrol responded to a single motorcycle crash on Northbound State Route 11 near Milepost 10 around 7:45 p.m. on September 23rd, 2018.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 66-year old Dana Hiler of Bellingham was traveling Northbound on State Route 11 on maroon 2011 Harley Davidson Street Glider Motorcycle when the brakes locked up as he negotiated a curve.  Troopers say the motorcycle left the roadway before reentering the roadway and crashing.  HILER was injured in the crash and transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bellingham for treatment.

A passenger on the motorcycle, 57-year old Amy Sechrengost of Lake Elsinore, CA was not injured in the crash.  Troopers say Hiler had a valid motorcycle endorsement and both driver  and passenger were wearing USDOT compliant helmets. Drugs or Alcohol were not a factor in the crash.

The Motorcycle was impounded for safe keeping by Peter’s Towing.

The cause of the crash is listed as Speed, charges of Speed are expected.
