Snohomish County, WA– The Washington State Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash on Eastbound State Route 530 near milepost 44 around 7:20 p.m. on January 13th, 2019.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 39-year old Christian Lucas of Camano Island was traveling Eastbound on State Route 530 in a grey 1998 Ford Ranger when he attempted to pass another vehicle. Troopers say while merging back into the Eastbound Lane LUCAS lost control of his vehicle and it left the roadway to the south, striking a stump.

The cause of the crash is listed as “speed too fast for conditions.” Troopers say LUCAS was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The truck was totaled and impounded to North County Towing for safe keeping.
