Mount Vernon, WA – The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 50-year old Mount Vernon man on suspicion of sexually assaulting and molesting a juvenile female relative since 2010.
The sexual abuse allegedly started in 2010 when the now teen was only 8-years old. The abuse was brought to light in 2018 when the teen told her mother and her boyfriend at the time what had been occurring. The three confronted the suspect and the abuse allegedly stopped. The abuse was then reported to Child Protection Services (CPS).
Child Protectives Services forwarded the case to the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office, and Detectives investigated the abuse. Detectives contacted the suspect and he admitted to the abuse.
According to Court Documents obtained by SkagitBreaking.com through a public disclosure request, the suspect told detectives he had been expecting them to contact him after he had been confronted by the teen, her boyfriend and her mother.
Court documents show the man admitted to raping the child 7 times and molesting her 3 times. He is currently being held in the Skagit County Community Justice Center on an INVESTIGATIVE HOLD for suspicion of seven (7) Counts of Rape of a Child 3rd Degree, three (3) counts of Child Molestation 3rd Degree, seven (7) counts of Incest 1st Degree and three (3) counts of Incest 2nd Degree.
