Mount Vernon, WA – Frank Simpson, Director of the Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens, will talk about how to grow and care for our state flower. He will cover varieties that are better suited for the home garden and how to incorporate them into a diverse landscape.

He will also talk about the Meerkerk Gardens, located on Whidbey Island, and how they are demonstrating the use of many different kinds of trees, shrubs, vines and perennials with rhododendrons to create a beautiful, 4-seasons-of-interest landscape.
This FREE Class will be held September 17th, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the WSU Mount Vernon NWREC building located at 16650 State Route 536.
