Stanwood Woman Dies in Crash on SR531

Snohomish County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a fatal crash in the 2500 block of State Route 531 around 1:42 a.m. on November 16th, 2019.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 33-year old Micaela Parker of Stanwood was traveling Eastbound on State Route 531 passing 26th Avenue Northwest in a red 2009 Toyota Rav4 when she failed to negotiate a left handed curve in the roadway and her vehicle went off the roadway to the right.  Troopers say the vehicle went down an embankment before colliding with a fence and then crashed into a detached garage.

Troopers say Parker was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash and the crash remains under investigation. Troopers say the cause of the crash is “Wheels off the Roadway.”

The vehicle was totaled and impounded by Dick’s Towing Stanwood for safe keeping.
