Burlington, WA- The Burlington Police Department responded to a weapons offense with reports of gunshots fired in the 100 block of South Burlington Boulevard at 11:34 a.m. on December 6th, 2019.
Arriving Officers located a shooting victim inside a vehicle on scene who was still alive. Medics arrived and provided life saving measures to the victim but he died at the scene. The victim was identified by Detectives as a 23-year old Native American Male. The Shooting suspect fled the scene.
Burlington High School and West View Elementary were placed on lock down as a safety precaution as the search for the suspect continued. Detectives and Officers from the Burlington Police Department, Mount Vernon Police Department, Skagit County Sheriff’s Department and the Washington State Patrol arrived on scene and actively worked to identify and locate the suspect.
Through their investigation, detectives have identified 19-year old Christian Flores of Sedro-Woolley as the suspect in today’s shooting. Flores is NOT in custody and is believed to have been aided in fleeing the scene. If you see flores or have any information about his whereabouts, do not approach him and please call 9-1-1. Flores is believed to be armed and dangerous.
