Island County, WA- The Washington State Patrol responded to a single vehicle, fatal crash in the 5600 block of Bob Galbreath Road around 5:56 p.m. on December 7th, 2019.
According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 47-year old Corey Simmons of Langley was traveling Westbound on Bob Galbreath road in a silver 2017 Nissan Sentra when his vehicle left the roadway to the right and went down an embankment, striking multiple trees. Troopers say Simmons was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.
Two 4-year old girls in the vehicle, both from Langley, were injured and transported to Whidbey Health for treatment. Their condition remains unknown.
Troopers say the Nissan was impounded for safe keeping by Scotty’s Towing.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
