Lake McMurray, WA – The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office closed off part of State Route 9 between Big Lake and Lake McMurray earlier today for an investigation into reports of possible human remains found in the area.
Both lanes of State Route 9 were closed between State Route 534 (Milepost 40) and Big Lake Boulevard (Milepost 44) around 2 p.m. today. Witnesses said there were approximately seven Sheriff’s Vehicle and multiple evidence markers along the roadway. All lanes have since reopened in the area.
This is an ongoing police investigation and we will update it as more information becomes available from the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office.
