Burlington, WA – A 35-year old Burlington man has been arrested by Skagit County Sheriff’s Deputies for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year old, teen family member.
According to court documents, the teen disclosed to family members that the man had been inappropriately touching her while they were alone. Detectives interviewed the man and were assisted by child interview experts to interview the teen girl, where she described the sexual assaults to deputies.
Deputies arrested the man and charged him with 2nd Degree Rape of a Child, a Class A felony and two counts of 2nd Degree Child Molestation, both are Class B felonies.
The man had denied the charges and has posted $100,000 bail after being jailed at the Skagit County Community Justice Center.
A Jury trial for the man is scheduled for September 8th, 2020 in Skagit County Superior Court. He remains free on bail at this time, with strict orders from the court to have no contact with the teen.
