Whatcom County, WA -The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 47-year old Maple Falls man on suspicion of 1st Degree Murder and Vehicular Homicide according to Whatcom County Jail Records.
The man, identified through Jail records as Brent Scott Gerber was booked into the Whatcom County Jail around 4:03 a.m. on April 6th, 2020. The arrest type is listed as Vehicular Homicide and the Offense Description is Murder 1st.
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office has not confirmed that Mr. Gerber is the suspect in the death of Skagit County Resident, Darian Sather, who’s body was found on a gravel road in the South Fork Park in Acme by two dog walkers around 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 4th. Sather is reported to have died by homicidal violence and had “suffered significant trauma and was obviously deceased,” when deputies had arrived on the scene.
Darian’s brother, Eli Sather, Identified her in a social media post as being the homicide victim.

Sherriff’s Deputies had said at the time that “Foul play was suspected in the victim’s death, and it’s an ongoing homicide investigation.”
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office has asked that anyone with information on the murder of Darian Sather or what may have happened at the park between 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3rd and 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4th, to call the Sheriff’s Tip Line at (360) 778-6663.
